Smile + Subtotal. Points for verified retail purchases.

Subtotal is a retail data platform that links purchases at retailers like Walmart, Target and Sephora to brand accounts. When connected to Smile, Subtotal awards loyalty points for verified retail purchases.

What you can do. With Smile and Subtotal.

No keys to manage
Subtotal refreshes its Smile connection token automatically, so there's no API key to create or rotate.
Customer-facing labels
Name each action, such as Retail purchase or Linked a retail account, and that name shows in the customer's activity feed.
Subtotal API connections
Brands using Subtotal's API pass the customer's email when creating a connection, so points reach the right Smile profile.

Connected in three steps. One approval in Smile.

  1. Step 1: Connect Smile in Subtotal

Sign in to the Subtotal Dashboard, open Integrations, then Smile, and click Connect Smile.

  2. Step 2: Approve in Smile

Subtotal takes you to Smile: review the access it requests and authorize it. Back in Subtotal, the integration shows as Active.

  3. Step 3: Add the actions

In Subtotal's Smile integration, click Add action, choose an event, name it and set its points: a flat value for a linked account, or points per dollar from a start date for purchases.
